With a name like The Butcher’s Daughter, you’d expect marbled steaks, not fresh-pressed juices. But this sunny spot on Kenmare Street is a purveyor of some of the liveliest flavors in the city, from inventive sandwiches and salads (there’s kale. It’s amazing) to delicious gluten-free pastries and brunch bites. Local farms provide the freshest fruits and veggies, which go into nearly every dish, but where they really shine is on the juice menu. The Waterflower, a concoction of watermelon, fennel, honeydew & lavender flower, is the perfect pick-me-up on a humid NYC day. If green is more your thing, the Goddess of Green, loaded with kale, cucumber, blue green algae and thyme, will delight.

If all this sounds way too virtuous, fear not: there’s beer, biodynamic wine, and La Colombe coffee, as well as a killer pastrami sandwich. We think that the
combination of delicious, healthy food and serene atmosphere makes this the spot to stop into after a NoLita stroll. Rest your weary legs, slake your thirst with a smoothie, and soak in the cheery atmosphere. If you’re looking to slim down for summer, there’s also an entire roster of cleanse packages which offer a mix of juices, smoothies and raw food for those who are really in it to win it. With summer’s produce bounty just bumping into business, we expect to be spending a lot of time at this freshness emporium, savoring the fruits of their labor. See you there?
